Diwali is a Hindu festival celebrated in happiness of Lord Ram returning back to Aayodhya after 14 years of exile with wife Sita and Brother Laxman defeating Ravan in Lanka. On this day Hindus purchase home utensils, equipment’s, jewelry like Gold’s and other precious metal and pray to Lord Laxmi & Ganesha.



The Day 2 of festival is “Narak Chaturdashi”, on 4 November 2021 also known as “Chhoti Diwali” As per Hindu Mythology on this day Lord Shri Krishna Destructed Asur Narkasur and frees 16,000 imprisoned princesses Kidnaped by Narkasur.

The Day 3 is “Laxmi Poojan” or “Diwali” this day is main day of the Diwali festival of 5 Days. On this day Hindus wears new dresses and worship lord Laxmi, Ganesh, Kuber & Lord Ram Laxman & Sita. Home is decorated with Diya and Rangoli. Different type of Fire crackers is burned on the Diwali night which makes beautiful lightings when they blast and makes energetic sound.

The Day 4 is “Balipratipada”, “Dowardhan Pooja,” or “Padwa” On this day Bali was defeated with the hand of Vishnu. This day is also celebrated with Gowardhan Parwat Pooja.

The Day 5 is “Bhau Duj” or Bhau Beej” This is last day of celebration, on this day sister welcomes his brother with Tilak and sweets. As per Hindu Mythology on this day Lord Shri Krishna was welcomed by his sister Subhadra after Defeating Narkasur.

The 5 Days festival ends with lots of fun, joys & happiness. Diwali is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in India.

As generation changes the method of celebration also changes. Initially there was method of only lightening of Diya and making beautiful rangoli, day usually end with bhajan and kirtan. But now a days traditional Diya is replaced with Chinese or Indian made electrical lighting system which last for not more than one year.
